Erin Kennedy

Erin has enjoyed a successful career in the entertainment industry for over 15 years. Her professional theatre credits include Xanadu the Musical, Mary Poppins, Hot Shoe Shuffle and the 25th Anniversary Australian tour of Les Misérables. TV appearances include Sunrise, The Morning Show and Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight. Before embarking on a music theatre career, Erin toured internationally as a lead vocalist and singer/dancer with various cruise lines for several years.

Erin has a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) from WAAPA, and a Certificate IV in Performing Arts from ED5 International. Her additional professional development includes studying at the Neil Semer Vocal Institute in Coesfeld, Germany, as well as completing courses in Anatomy, Physiology, Acoustics and Resonance with the New York Singing Teachers Association. She maintains working relationships with various high-level coaches in New York, including Aaran Hagan, Neil Semer and Justin Stoney, and is constantly striving to learn and pass on best practise vocal technique.

Erin has taught Vocal Technique, Acting and Song Repertoire to Diploma students at Spectrum Dance, Transit Dance, Ministry of Dance and The Space, as well as various institutions in Sydney including Dance Central and Sydney Girls Grammar. She is a Senior Vocal Coach and Music Theatre teacher at various performing arts institutions across Melbourne, including Flashdance Performing Arts where she developed and implemented a Senior Development Program, designed to bridge the gap between VCE and tertiary study. Erin also maintains a private vocal and acting studio, with students going on to study in tertiary institutions and performing professionally. Erin’s vocal and performance coaching philosophy pairs a solid foundation of advanced vocal technique with an emphasis on bravery, vulnerability, imagination and creativity. She has worked extensively with speech therapists, ENT’s, performance physiotherapists and psychologists to develop a complete mind and body approach to the craft of performance.
