Natalie Gamsu is a singer, actor, cabaret artist and visual artist. She has performed both internationally (New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, and Johannesburg), and nationally. Born in Namibia, Natalie established a strong following with her solo cabaret shows, music theatre, and television in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Some of Gamsu’s theatre credits include Candide (Woman With One Buttock), Dr. Zhivago, Mary Poppins, (Miss Andrew), Women Of Troy (Barry Kosky), Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom (Abuela) and Ladies In Black (Magda), director - Simon Phillips. Most recently, Darlinghurst Nights (Rose), director - Lee Lewis, composer Max Lambert.
From 1992 - 2003, Natalie lived and worked in New York City. She won the Backstage Bistro Award and a MAC Award for Outstanding Vocalist. She has recorded 2 CD’s Weave and Misfit (iTunes). Recent credits in film and TV include the role of Jan Barton in Neighbours, Fatima in the Feature Film, Ali’s Wedding and Sal in Street Smart.
Her new one-woman show Carmen – Live Or Dead has been performed in Melbourne at The Butterfly Club, The Hayes in Sydney and most recently at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival in June.
